# Source Safety Checklist for Your Student NotebookLM

The student NotebookLM is owned and configured by the teacher. This website supplies guidance only and receives no student materials.

## Sources to include
- Student-visible assignment directions, readings, approved lab procedures, reference tables, and rubrics
- Safe, approved classroom materials needed to understand the activity
- Accurate diagrams, videos, or data students may legitimately use

## Sources to leave out
- Hidden answer keys, suspect solutions, unreleased tests, or teacher scoring anchors
- Student records, names, identifying information, IEP/504 plans, or personal data
- Private staff communications and non-student-facing teacher notes
- Unapproved procedures or sources students should not see

## Quality checks
- [ ] Every document is intended for student access
- [ ] Source titles are descriptive and up to date
- [ ] No private URLs or secrets are embedded
- [ ] Instructions tell the AI to acknowledge missing information rather than invent facts
- [ ] Coach behavior is tailored to the learning goals (not blindly based on a sample prompt)
- [ ] All viewers can see every source safely, even if using Chat View
- [ ] Notebook permission and school policy are reviewed before sharing
- [ ] A no-AI transfer check is planned
